How to change your eating habits?

Many people feel that it is difficult to change their eating habits. You might have heard hundred of stories, read articles and followed popular diets. You might have changed for a while but then went back to your old habits and routine when you first started. It is easy to start but how can you find the way to a long term lifestyle?

Today's social media show you what you should look like and what your ideal body should look like. Society's beauty ideal can affect you so that you want to make a change here and now!


First of all, you need to think who you reaaly are and what your goal is. To be realistic with your goals is a trait that should follow you throughout this journey of yours.


The goal should be to develop a healthy life with healthy eating habits so that your body and soul feel well after this change.


Big changes do not happen over a night, instead, you should start taking small steps.


First step: empty your pantry and fridge from everything that is not good for your body. Whatever is within your reach should be taken away. This way it is not easy for you to get what was a temptation throughout your life. To find a substitute that your body needs right at that moment when you open the pantry or the fridge makes a difference even if you do not realise it then. It is going to be surprising when your body responds positively on your alternative choice.


But what is it like with the soul? What has been your obstacle all this time?


Your relation with your body is deeper than you think. No, it is not only that you like sugar but this need is a substitute for something else that both your body and soul are missing. Could it be that you punish yourself unconsciously or is it only that your ´´pleasure hormones`` are not on the right level så that you need to increase a number of nutrients in order to find a balance?


A change does not mean that everything will happen immediately and that you will find all the answers right away. To be able to focus on one area at the time creates a better aiming point for your goals. To start training like crazy or eat as little as possible is not something that your body will accept over a long period of time. Changing does not mean that everything will happen instantly and that you will get the answers to all your problems. Focusing on a certain area each time creates a better long-term planning towards your goals. To use mindfulness every day without any guidance is not the answer, either. Instead, what you can do is to gradually find the way back to your true self, to who you are and to what you want to get.
